I’ve created a new giant gemstone pattern that is sure to capture your heart. The “Annie” pattern features a heart-shaped gemstone that sparkles in four colorways: Purple Heart, Aquamarine, Rubellite, and Peridot. My inspiration for the pattern is Army Lt. Annie G. Fox, the first woman to be awarded the Purple Heart medal in 1942 for her heroic service during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The gem center is 46” square and finishes to 56” with the addition of a border. Fabric kits in the four colorways are also available separately.
I like to call this technique “traditional quilting using freezer paper as your templates.” This is NOT foundation paper piecing! You won’t have to sew to paper. You won’t use the flip-and-sew method, and you won’t have to spend precious time plucking paper out of the back of our quilt when it’s finished. Instead, if you can put two pieces of fabric right sides together with a quarter-inch seam allowance (and I know you can!), you can make this quilt.
